BOLIX OP

BOLIX OP is a render undercoat used for priming prior to the application of the renders: – mineral BOLIX MP (not suitable for BOLIX MP KA 15M) – acrylic BOLIX / BOLIX complex – decorative BOLIX TM, BOLIX DECO, BOLIX TR on exterior walls of existing and new buildings as well as in interiors. Substrates for which the undercoat is suitable: – base coat in external thermal insulation and composite systems (ETICS) with polystyrene and mineral wool, – mineral substrates such as: concrete, cement or cement-lime renders.

  • facilitates render application – contains quartz powder
  • seals off and strengthens the surface
  • suppresses dust formation, evens out the porosity of the surface
  • protects the primed surface against adverse effect of moisture
  • seals and blocks out stains in base coats and prevents from bleeding
    through to the top coats

Ambient and surface temperature at application and drying:
from +5°C to +25°C
Relative humidity at application and drying:
up to 80%
Density:
approx. 1.35 kg/dm3
Colour range:
white or from the colour chart BOLIX KOLOR SPEKTRUM 300+.

BOLIX OP is a render primer designed for substrate preparation before the application of thin-layer façade render coats – mineral, acrylic and decorative. Thanks to its quartz powder content, it improves render adhesion, facilitates application and ensures smooth, even tool movement.

The product evens out and reduces substrate absorbency, which directly affects render consumption and its final appearance. It also protects the surface against moisture and reduces the risk of the substrate colour showing through the render texture.

Application scope includes:

reinforced layer in BOLIX ETICS systems based on EPS and mineral wool
mineral substrates: concrete, cement and cement-lime plasters
substrate preparation for BOLIX MP, BOLIX COMPLEX, BOLIX DECO and BOLIX TR renders

Key technical parameters:

consumption: approx. 0.25–0.40 kg/m²
density: approx. 1.42 g/cm³
drying time: min. 4 h
VOC content: ≤ 15 g/l
application: brush or roller

The primer should be applied evenly onto a properly prepared, sound and clean substrate. In thermal insulation systems, application is possible after the reinforced layer has fully set. Selecting a primer colour similar to the render colour reduces the risk of show-through and improves the final visual effect.

The product is part of BOLIX thermal insulation systems covered by ETA technical assessments.
